Padel court in Asia

PadeL Story

Planning to build a tennis court in his villa in Acapulco and considering the walls next to the space available to design the court, in 1969 a Mexican named Enrique Corcuera came up with the idea of considering the walls as part and parcel of the game itself. Alongside a friend of his, Corcuera went ahead to regulate the new game and called it “padel”.

As a game, Padel combines elements of several racket games including tennis, squash and basque pelota, is beneficial to all sportsmen! it can be a source of fun or just a chance to meet and “get-together’; at the same time it can be a valid motor activity without entailing aggressive movements to keep fit; it can be a practical activity for the entire family; it can gratifying in terms of sporting performance. Basically, it is played under tennis rules.

From a measurement error to the sport of the third millennium! That is loved by all. It has already taken Argentina and Spain by storm, now it’s time for the Asian world. 16 million players in these 2 countries alone with more than 90,000 courts built and an extremely popular world championship.

The foremost and most important reason to consider investing in Padel lies in the fact that is a futuristic game/sport and it is the sport of the moment in 34 countries worldwide with more than 20 million players due to the fact that it is pretty “social” a sport and easy to play. Anyone can become a decent player in no time.

The second reason lies in the fact that it is less demanding as compared to other sports investments money-wise, with a more immediate and rewarding return on investment. A 300 sqm piece of land is all you need to build one court alongside the respective dressing rooms. However, it is advisable to build at least two courts in order to optimise the investment! Besides leasing the courts, profitability comes through accessory services, such as: cafeterias, merchandising, lessons, tournaments etc.

Benefits of Padel

FUN

ACCESSIBLE

ACCESSIBLE

Less physical effort is required than in tennis or racquetball. Longer rallies due to the small size of the court and fences. More time playing and less time picking up ball. 50mins of play per hour versus only 15mins of play for tennis!

ACCESSIBLE

ACCESSIBLE

ACCESSIBLE

Players learn how to play relatively quickly and improve fast. The point starts with a underhanded serve, which is an easy shot to make and return. There are two chances to return the ball, before and after it hits the glass. The racquet is very easy to handle. Unlike other sports, players can start doing rallies immediately

SOCIAL

ACCESSIBLE

SOCIAL

It is a team sport, only played in doubles. Having 4 people on a small court at the same time brings everyone closer, which makes social conversation between players an integral part of the game. It is a entertaining sport to watch with spectacular points. It is a intergenerational game in which children, grandparents and parents can all play together

A game for everyone

KIDS

Kids can start playing padel very young, from 4 years old only. They love playing padel because the game is relatively easy for them and they can start doing rallies immediately. There is also a lot of other games you can do on a padel court to have fun!

Also padel is interesting for them because it promotes teamwork, as well as hand-eye coordination.

WOMEN

Women also find in padel another way to play sports. It remains a great workout without being too demanding physically or technically, like tennis or squash.  As a matter of fact, the number of women playing padel at an amateur level has doubled over the last 2 years.

Today, approximately 30% of the players are women vs 15% in tennis.

SENIORS

How many sports give people the chance to play with their grandkids? Not a lot, but good news is padel is definitely one of them! It is truly a cross-generational game, that allows seniors to play with the whole family while enjoying a good workout.

For them, it represents the perfect intermediate between tennis and golf.
